Our story really started in the 90s with a profound love for Swatch® watches. Here’s the story in the words of our founder.

As a kid, my heart was set on Swatch® watches, but my pockets were never deep enough to own one. My love for creativity and working with my hands often led me to buy inexpensive watches—the only ones I could afford. One day, inspiration struck, and I decided to open up a cheap watch and replace the face with a vibrant cutout from a surf magazine.

I remember that moment vividly; the tropical beach image transformed the watch. Using a product called Letraset, I carefully wrote the word "Swatch" on it. To add a finishing touch, I cut two small gaps in the wristband to mimic the iconic Swatch® design.

To my surprise, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Instead of questioning if I couldn’t afford a real Swatch®, my friends asked, "Is that a Swatch?", "How did you do that?", and "Can you make me one?" That was the first of many watches I customised, and I loved each one because the designs I added made them feel uniquely mine.

This passion for creating and personalising items has stayed with me ever since. I believe people are drawn to personalisation, especially when it connects with their own stories. ShoeTattoo exists to give everyone the joy of customising their sneakers, making them look like they were designed and produced by a big brand, but with a personal twist. It's about celebrating the art of individuality, one customised sneaker at a time.
